  • His Excellency,The Governor of West Bengal, Patron

    Shri Keshari Nath Tripathi is an Indian Politician and the present Governor of West Bengal. He took oath as Governor of West Bengal on 24 July 2014. The Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy (IICP) is privileged to have Shri Tripathi as its valued Patron taking keen interest in IICP’s services.

  • Uma Ahmad, Chief Mentor

    Uma Ahmad is a renowned educationist, Mrs Ahmad taught in Loreto House, Kolkata for many years since 1965 and is a founder member of the ‘Progressive Educational Techniques of Education’ better known as ‘The Teachers Centre’ at Loreto House, founded in 1974. She has been the Chairperson of llCP since 1986.

  • Rakhi Sarkar, Chairperson

    Rakhi Sarkar is the Founder of CIMA Art Gallery and Biennial CIMA Awards. An alumnus of Presidency College, Kolkata, Mrs Sarkar has a B.Ed, Calcutta University and a PG Diploma in International Relations from Geneva Institute of International Relations, University of Trinidad and Tobago. Mrs Sarkar has been associated with the Institute for many years.

  • Dr Sudha Kaul, Vice Chairperson

    Sudha Kaul was awarded a Padma Shree in 2010 for her contribution to the disability sector. Dr Kaul is the Founder and Vice Chairperson of the organisation. Dr Kaul has a PhD in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) from Manchester Metropolitan University (UK). She was the first Asian woman to head ISAAC - International Society for AAC, Canada. She is a member of many policy making bodies in the Disability Sector.

  • Reena Sen, Hon. Secretary

    Reena Sen is a special education teacher. She is a founder member of the organization and has worked since January 1975. The Executive Director since 2010, she retired from this position on 31 March 2018. In 1987, Dr Sen founded Raksha, a NGO for persons with disability in Kochi, Kerala. Her qualifications include a B Ed (Calcutta University), a PhD and Master’s Degree (Dept of Psychology and Special Needs Education), Institute of Education, University of London.

  • Manab Kumar Ray Chaudhuri, Treasurer

    Manab Kumar Ray Chaudhuri is a Chartered Accountant by profession; he worked at a board level for twenty-five years in industry. Professional qualifications and memberships include M.Com, FCA, ACIS (UK), and ACS. Mr Ray Chaudhuri has been associated with IICP since 2002 as Hon Jt Treasurer and guides financial planning and management.

  • Arjun Sengupta, Treasurer

    Arjun Sengupta is a Chartered Accountant. He is the CFO of Goodricke Group Limited (GGL) and started his career with the NICCO Group. He has worked with GGL for the last 30 years. Mr Sengupta is also a member of the Finance Committee of the Indian Tea Association and Tea Research Association.

  • Meenakshi Atal, Member

    Meenakshi Atal, MA, M.Ed has thirty years of experience in school administration and is the Vice Principal of The Heritage School, Kolkata’s first inclusive day boarding school. She has been associated with IICP for over two decades and is an integral part of the team developing appropriate teaching and learning material.

  • Pratiti Basu Sarkar, Member

    Pratiti Basu Sarkar’s association with IICP started as a volunteer in the Centre for Special Education, Kolkata from 1981 - 1984. She has a Master’s degree in Education (with emphasis on Psychology of Learning) from the University of Pennsylvania, USA. She is the Administrator, CIMA Art Gallery and is passionate about the rights of persons with disability.

  • Ranu Banerjee, Member

    Ranu Banerjee has been associated with IICP since 1975 and has held several posts in IICP including Principal, Centre for Special Education and Executive Secretary. A special educator by profession, Mrs Banerjee was awarded the Rotary International Scholarship that enabled her to complete a MS (Education) from the Division of Special Education, Purdue University, USA.

  • Gautam Chakrabartti, Member

    Gautam Chakrabartti is a senior advocate of the Calcutta High Court and the Supreme Court. He was educated at Presidency College, Kolkata. He graduated with Economics Honours and thereafter studied law in the UK and was called to the Bar in 1954. Mr Chakravartti has been associated with IICP for two decades.

  • Jeeja Ghosh, Member

    Jeeja Ghosh is an activist for the rights of people with disabilities. Ms Ghosh has been involved in the advocacy movement for people with disabilities since and her special interest is women with disabilities. Jeeja is the Head of Advocacy and Disability Studies at IICP with a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from Delhi University and a MA in Disability Studies s from Leeds University, UK.

  • Shiv Siddhant Narayan Kaul, Member

    Shiv Siddhant Narayan Kaul, Managing Director, Nicco Engineering Services is also a Group Director, Nicco Group. He received a MsE in Operations Research & Financial Engineering from Princeton University and his BA (summa cum laude) from the College of Wooster. Mr Kaul is a member of the National Executive Committee of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the co-chair of its Science & Technology and Innovation committee.

  • Sujata Parekh, Member

    Sujata Parekh is a social worker with a PG Diploma in Social Work from Nirmala Niketan, Mumbai and an MPhil Degree in Social Work from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK, Mrs Parekh set up the Social Services Department when she joined IICP in 1976. She retired as the Head of Social Services and Jt Head of Community Based Rehabilitation but continues her involvement as a mentor for the Social Work Department of IICP.

  • S. N. Menon, Special Advisor

    S. N. Menon, IAS (Retired) was formerly Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industries. As Jt Secretary, Ministry of Social Welfare (now Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment) he has made significant contributions to the disability sector. Mr Menon has had a long association with IICP.

  • Om Kaul, Member, Finance Committee

    Om Kaul is a Founder of the organization and has been closely associated with its growth and policies since its inception. A tea taster and auctioneer by profession, Mr Kaul has five decades of association with the tea industry. He helped initiate and continues to mentor the Tea Packaging Training Unit in IICP.

  • Dipak Banerjee, Member, Finance Committee

    Dipak Kumar Banerjee is a Chartered Accountant by profession and on the Board of several reputed companies, Mr Banerjee retired as Chairman, Unilever Uganda Limited after a twenty-five year tenure in Levers. He has been associated with IICP for over a decade and is closely involved in the financial management of the organization. Mr Banerjee was appointed the Hon Jt Treasurer in July 2017.

  • Harish M Parekh, Member, Finance Committee

    Harish M Parekh is a tea taster and auctioneer by profession, Harish Parekh has spent over fifty years in the tea industry. He retired as the Chairman of J Thomas and Co Pvt Ltd, the world’s largest auction house. Mr Parekh has been associated with IICP for over three decades and is closely involved in the financial management of the organisation.

  • Subhra Chatterjee, Member, Advisory Committee

    Subhra Chatterjee has a graduate degree from Shri Shikshayatan College, Calcutta University. As Deputy Director, Communications, IICP, she helped to forge close links with the Press and Media and a host of well-wishers. During her 35 year association with IICP, she organized many campaigns and events to lend greater visibility to IICP’s work. Ms Chatterjee influenced artistes and actors to include persons with disability and has facilitated many opportunities for employment of adults with disability.

  • Dr Zarine Dadina, Member, Advisory Committee

    Dr Zarine Dadina, MBBS, DCH is a renowned paediatrician of Kolkata. She was Senior Paediatric Consultant in the Assembly of God Hospital. The Chairperson of the Society for Children's Welfare, Dr Dadina was a Founder Member of the organisation. Dr Dadina has been associated with IICP since its inception and is has facilitated the medical care of children who use IICP’s services.

  • Chandan Kumar Dey, Member, Advisory Committee

    Chandan Kumar Dey is a Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant. Director of Finance in Coal India Ltd, he is a graduate from Calcutta University in Commerce with Honours in Accountancy. Mr Dey has wide experience of over 34 years in corporate organisations of repute.

  • Biswadip Gupta, Member, Advisory Committee

    Biswadip Gupta is a Metallurgical Engineer with a MBA in Marketing. He is the Jt Managing Director and CEO of JSW Bengal Steel Ltd at JSW Ltd and CEO, JSW Foundation. Mr Gupta has been closely engaged in setting up a multi-crore 10 MTPA steel plant at Salboni, West Medinipur for JSW Group. He is the Chairman, Vesuvius India and has a long association with CII.

  • Hemant Kanoria, Member, Advisory Committee

    Hemant Kanoria, Chairman and Managing Director, SREI Infrastructure Finance Limited is a well-known industrialist and management professional who is also associated with a host of initiatives for rural entrepreneurship. An alumnus of St Xavier College, Kolkata, it was Mr Kanoria’s idea that corporate houses should be involved in partnerships enabling group sponsorships that led to an effective project enabling IICP to raise funds and awareness.

  • Aniruddha Roy, Member, Advisory Committee

    Aniruddha Roy is an Electrical Engineer with a Physics (Honours) degree from Calcutta University and a B Tech (Honours) from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He worked with Eveready Industries India Ltd (formerly Union Carbide India Ltd) for thirty-eight years and retired as a whole time Director of the Company in December 2007. He is on the Board of several companies and a Governing Body member of Calcutta Institute of Engineering and Management.

  • Renu Saharia, Member, Advisory Committee

    Renu Saharia is an independent insurance professional. She is associated with many reputed insurance companies and has won a multitude of awards for her work. Ms Saharia joined IICP in 1977 when she worked as a teacher for children with severe multiple disabilities and continues to support the organization’s fund raising activities.
