Rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities and training for capacity building is carried out in rural areas and urban slums in partnership with local organisations.

Since 2000, this department has worked in 137 sites and urban slums of 87 wards under the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) . Through regular site and home visits they provide support to the partner organizations, parents, children and the community as a whole. Camps are organized for health and vision check-ups and issue of the unique identification ‘Aadhaar’ card. Referrals are made for free medical interventions in government hospitals and to avail the Rashtriya Bal SwasthaKaryakram (RBSK). Assistance is provided to persons with disability for procurement of Disability cards and enrolment in the Niramaya Medical Insurance Scheme.

Between 1994 and 1999, IICP partnered development agencies in initiating and developing services in districts of West Bengal. Community development projects focusing on disability and development in rural and semi-rural communities in the districts of West Bengal are conducted in partnership with development agencies with support of corporate sponsorship.
