Trade related training is provided in three units – Catering, Printing and Computer Applications – with an emphasis on skill development and income generation after completion of training. With support from IICP, four Self-Help Groups are working on self-employment schemes with loans from the bank. Placements are arranged and efforts made to find meaningful employment through participation in Job Fairs organized by the Government and private agencies. Advocacy, social skills training and participation in social awareness programmes are an integral part of the VTC curriculum.
Services of this section are open to persons above 18 years with cerebral palsy, and others with orthopedic and locomotor impairments, mild to moderate learning difficulties and hearing impairment.

The unit enables adults with disabilities and economic disadvantages to learn computer skills for improvement in economic status; provides technological support and solutions; assists competent and effective use of technology across all services. Some of these courses conducted by this unit are offered in collaboration with Sister Nivedita University.These courses are offered for people who have passed secondary examinations. Courses offered are:
Office Management | Database Management | Desktop Publishing | Web Designing and Publishing | Introduction to Computer & MS Word with Back Office Assistance | Making Presentations: Using MS-PowerPoint | Using the Internet | Spreadsheets: Using MS-Excel
We also offer short modular courses for persons who have passed class VIII.
